How the Land Sale Process Works
The Initial Contact for a Timberland Review
When you contact us about the potential sale of your land or timber, we will schedule a time with you to have our registered forester come speak with you and visit your property.
Inspecting the Property
Our forester will closely inspect the property and timber to see if it meets our needs and specific criteria. Based on this primary review of the property, we will decide whether or not to proceed to the next step in the process.
We will show the utmost respect for your property and be sure to leave it in the same way that we found it.
Determining the Value of the Property – What is Your Land Worth?
If your property is well suited to our needs, the next step is determining its value. The value of your property is determined by using soil survey maps and by conducting an inventory of the standing timber.
In some cases we may hire and land appraiser to give us an independent opinion as to the property value. This entire process is done at no cost to you.
Entering Into an Agreement for a Forested Land Sale
After we have negotiated a purchase price for your property, we will undertake due diligence work and have our attorneys complete the legal steps for the purchase of your land.
We work hard to make sure that this process is fair and equitable for both parties. Our reputation is important to us and we strive to make every deal an example of our strong land ethic and high quality customer service.
